Filax 2: The Ultra-Fast Transfer Switch

The Filax 2 has been meticulously designed to handle sensitive loads, such as computers or modern entertainment equipment, switching seamlessly from one AC source to another. Typically, the priority source is the mains, a generator, or shore power, while the alternate source is an inverter.

With an impressive switching time of less than 20 milliseconds, the Filax ensures that sensitive loads continue to operate without any disruption. However, it is important to note that the Filax is not intended for high-power household equipment like washing machines or electric motors.

Open Transition Transfer

The Filax operates as an open transition (break before make) transfer switch, ensuring smooth transitions between power sources. Key features include:

• Maximum load transfer time: 16ms.
• Priority source: The load is normally supplied by the priority source and only transferred to the alternate source if:
  • The voltage of the priority source drops below the threshold value.
  • The frequency of the priority source falls below the low-frequency threshold or exceeds the high-frequency threshold.
• Reverse transfer: The system will revert back to the priority source after it has operated within acceptable voltage and frequency limits for 30 seconds.
